Systeme.io Free Plan Limits (2026): Is It Actually Free?

We registered a fresh Systeme.io Free account on 12 July 2026 and pulled every limit straight from the dashboard. The $0 price checks out — no card, no trial timer on any surface we reviewed. But two details most guides skip: nearly every feature is capped at exactly one, and the account carries a meter labeled "Revenue limit" at 0/10000 that Systeme.io does not explain on the pricing page or any account surface we reviewed.

Is Systeme.io actually free?

Yes. We checked the usual catches: registration asked for an email address and nothing else — no card, no billing step. No trial countdown appeared anywhere in the account afterwards. Our billing page simply shows the Free plan as current, at $0.

Which cap bites first depends on your setup. A single-funnel business can sit inside the Free limits for a long time. A setup that needs several campaigns, tags, or automations hits its wall much earlier — often well before 2,000 contacts. Here are the key limits and limitations the account displays.

How many contacts does the free plan really allow?

2,000 — and the cap the dashboard displays matches what the pricing page advertises. The in-app limits panel (it lives in the Upgrade section) meters every cap live. On our fresh account: 0/2000.

What we did not do: stuff the account with fake contacts to trigger the wall. Systeme.io's own import screen warns that imports can be manually reviewed by their team and that high complaint rates get accounts suspended. So we report the cap as the dashboard meters it — enforcement behavior at the cap is untested, and we'll document it if real usage ever approaches it.

What are the Systeme.io free plan limits?

The decision usually comes down to six limits. These are the free-plan caps displayed in our account; the expandable comparison underneath preserves every paid-tier figure from the same screen.

Annual billing shows $170, $470, and $970 per year for the three paid tiers — two months free, exactly as the toggle advertises.

What will make you outgrow the free plan?

The 2,000-contact cap gets the attention, but look down the Free column: automation rules, workflows, tags, email campaigns, A/B tests, upsells, order bumps, pipelines — the account displays exactly one of each.

A simple setup fits inside that. What doesn't:

• A second automated sequence — the plan shows 1 email campaign
• Multiple tag-based segments — the plan gives you 1 tag; built-in contact filters remain available
• A second automation trigger or workflow — 1 of each
• A second sales pipeline, A/B test, upsell, or order bump — 1 of each

On the numbers alone, a growing setup meets these one-of-each caps well before it meets the contact limit — a detail most coverage of this plan skips. We did not test what happens when a cap is reached.

Does the Systeme.io free plan have a revenue limit?

This is the finding we haven't seen documented anywhere else. The free account's limits panel — the same screen that meters contacts and funnels — includes a line the pricing page never mentions:

The account shows "Revenue limit: 0/10000." Systeme.io does not define the unit, the period, or the enforcement, and the public pricing page doesn't mention the meter at all — its FAQ lists contacts, funnels, and domains as the free plan's limits and stops there. Third-party guides go further and state outright that there is no revenue restriction on the free plan.

To be precise about what this proves: the meter exists. It does not prove that anything stops at 10,000 — it could be a hard checkout stop, a forced upgrade, a nudge, or a dormant leftover. We haven't hit the number and won't guess. We'll put the question to Systeme.io support, and this page's changelog will record the answer.

Does the free plan include a custom domain?

The free plan includes one custom-domain slot — and unlike what a lot of older guides claim, it isn't locked behind an upgrade. On our free account, Settings → Custom domains offered one domain slot and the add-domain form opened with no upgrade prompt. We did not complete a DNS connection, so this check confirms access to the setup flow rather than end-to-end domain activation.

Can you send unlimited emails on the free plan?

Broadcasts, yes. The plan comparison labels email sends and one-off newsletters as unlimited on every tier, including free. What's capped is automated campaigns: exactly one on the free plan. In short — email your list as often as you like, with a single automated sequence behind it. That claim is Systeme.io's own comparison table; we haven't stress-tested delivery volume.

Before you bring an existing list: importing isn't a free-for-all. Systeme.io requires explicit consent for imported addresses, may pause an import for manual review by their team, and says larger imports may require gradual sending to protect deliverability.

Which Startup price is real — $17 or $27?

Both, right now, on Systeme.io's own website. On 12 July 2026 the main pricing page and our in-account upgrade screen both showed $17/month. The same day, a second live Systeme.io pricing page (systeme.io/pricing-87fa9100) still displayed $27/month — the figure most third-party coverage repeats.

Why both prices are live, we can't tell from the pages alone: variant testing, stale routing, and regional differences are all possible. Our account showed $17, and $170/year on annual billing. Trust the price your own account shows at checkout over any marketing page — including the ones we screenshotted.

Who is the Systeme.io free plan for?

The Free plan fits one shape of business: one funnel, one sequence, one website, a list under 2,000. For that shape, the account we checked delivers a working funnel, unlimited displayed sends, and a custom-domain slot for $0 — a combination that's rare at this price.

A multi-campaign setup can reach the one-of-each caps — second campaign, second tag, second automation — before it reaches the contact limit. Startup at $17/month is the tier those caps point to; we haven't tested it yet, and its guide is next. Running client work or an agency? The single website, domain, and pipeline are your real walls — that's a different fork of this road entirely.
